Policy of Screening for Plagiarism
The Journal of Management Economics and Financial Accounting (JOMEFA) is committed to ensuring the originality and integrity of all submitted manuscripts. All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening as part of the editorial process.
1. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts submitted to JOMEFA will be checked using reliable plagiarism detection software before being sent for peer review.
2. Similarity Threshold
The acceptable similarity index is:
- Maximum 20% overall similarity
- Excluding references, quotations, and properly cited sources
Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be:
- Returned to authors for revision, or
- Rejected if significant plagiarism is detected
3. Types of Plagiarism
The journal considers the following as unethical:
- Direct copying without proper citation
- Paraphrasing without acknowledgment
- Self-plagiarism (reuse of the author’s own previously published work without citation)
- Data or content duplication
4. Editorial Actions
If plagiarism is identified:
- Before review → Manuscript will be rejected or returned for correction
- During review → Review process will be halted
- After publication → The article may be corrected or retracted
5. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:
- Their manuscripts are original
- All sources are properly cited
- Proper quotation and referencing practices are followed
