Authorship Policy
The Journal of Management Economics and Financial Accounting (JOMEFA) requires that all listed authors meet appropriate criteria for authorship. This policy ensures transparency, accountability, and integrity in scholarly publishing.
1. Criteria for Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the manuscript, including:
- Conceptualization and research design
- Data collection, analysis, or interpretation
- Drafting or critically revising the manuscript
- Approval of the final version to be published
All authors must agree to be accountable for the content of the work.
2. Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is responsible for:
- Managing communication with the journal during submission, review, and publication
- Ensuring all co-authors approve the manuscript and its submission
- Ensuring that all authors meet authorship criteria
- Handling revisions and responding to reviewer comments
3. Acknowledgment of Contributions
Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section, including:
- Technical support
- Writing assistance
- General supervision
4. Changes in Authorship
Any changes in authorship (addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors) must:
- Be requested in writing to the editor
- Include a clear explanation of the reason
- Be approved by all authors (including those being added or removed)
Changes after manuscript acceptance are strongly discouraged and will only be considered in exceptional cases.
5. Authorship Misconduct
The following practices are considered unethical:
- Ghost authorship (excluding contributors who meet authorship criteria)
- Guest/Gift authorship (including individuals with no significant contribution)
- Misrepresentation of author contributions
Such cases may result in:
- Rejection of the manuscript
- Retraction of published articles
- Notification to affiliated institutions
6. Author Contribution Statement
JOMEFA encourages authors to include a clear statement describing each author’s contribution to the work in the manuscript.
